A/H1N1 Analysis of Fatalities
This report contains global fatalities data by country for the last five days, and an analysis of the situation world-wide. Click the icon on the left of HERE to download the report. Archived reports are listed at the foot of the page.

The report is provided as is, and all data is believed accurate at the time of publication, but no assurances are given or should be inferred.

Notes on data sources: centralised sources of data that were available in the early stages of H1N1, such as WHO and CDC, and individual states' health agencies, have progressively withdrawn from open reporting. As time has passed, this has made data collection more and more difficult. We have concentrated on analysis based on fatalities because they are more likely to be reported by a variety of agencies and news organisations, and because they have a more definitive definition than cases of illness. Wikipedia has a number of valuable resources that aggregate fully attributed data, and we have used these as inputs to our analysis where this has proved to be a reliable source.
The report contains the following:
  • Breakdown of the current statistics, globally and by region
  • Latest 45day picture of the situation:
    • Growth of fatalities worldwide,
    • regional totals
    • Ten-day fatality growth rates for each region
  • History of fatalities per 100m in each region since April 24, 2009
  • Severity Map for the major infected nations
  • Top countries ranked by fatalities per million of population
  • Top countries ranked by fatality growth rate
  • Fatality analysis for each country, world-wide, including
    • Population
    • Total fatalities reported for each of the last five days
    • Deaths per million population, and world-wide rank
    • Ten-day growth rate of fatalities, and world-wide rank
